GMAT är ett standardiserat test som måste tas av kandidater till MBA-program runt om i världen. Ca 200 000 människor tar testet årligen. Av dessa får ca 50 personer maxpoäng, vilket är 800. Man behöver inte ha en exceptionell score för att komma in på ett väldigt bra program. Över 600 går i många fall alldeles utmärkt (baserat på de intervall jag sett).
För att klara detta krävs det i de flesta fall träning, träning och åter träning. Då jag talat med folk som har gått på NYU Stern så sade många att de tränade "hårt" i ett flertal veckor (och då var dessa Amerikaner). GMAT'en är inte lätt, det är inte heller speciellt roligt - men ifall man har ett mål uppställt, så är resan dit förhållandevis "okej".

Skalan löper från 0 till 800. Graderingen följer en standard fördelning.
Jag rekommenderar eventuella "test takers" att köpa och verkligen studera den här boken.
Värt att nämna är att då man registrerar sig för ett test - mot en kostnad av ca. USD 320 - så får man även en CDROM hemskickad (om man så önskar att få denna). Denna disk innehåller två stycken autentiska test, med samma "interface" som själva testet. Dessa ska man självklart göra.
